so, as i was trying to no avail to clean my room today, i realized that i've been doing way too much thrifting and have accumulated way too many ties. there's no way i can use that many tie pillows, chokers, flowers, and such on my own. i thought about getting rid of them, but i can't just throw away a perfectly good tie.
so, basically, is anyone interested in a revamped tie swap? if you're not sure what to make you can look at this* thread for inspiration.
if there's enough interest, i'll organize it and post the formal swap post dealy.

Kind of like the 1000 journals but more organized and with only about 6 people?  We could send them every two weeks and each person would have thier own journal that would return to them at the end.  In each journal you would write about your dream the night before, your  day, add some artwork or a poem, etc,.  I would be willing to put this together if there is interest.

This isn't actually a theme proposal, more of a general housekeeping proposal:
Now that there's a separate 'gallery' board where we should all be posting our successful swap pics, maybe we (organizers) should notify leah when a swap is totally 'done' (i.e. nobody still waiting for stuff) so that she can delete that swap thread.  These are, after all, 'time sensitive' posts, and I'm sure no one cares who was joining what swap 6 months on....

I was about to suggest something similar myself. The problem I've been having is "losing" new swap threads because they blend in with all the old swap-closed threads that are on there.

Hi there, thanks for the suggestion. I went ahead a deleted all the past posts within a swap. I left the first post to the swap for reference, and Leah added a new "child folder" which you can see at the top of the swap forum page, with archives of the past swaps.

Once a swap is finished, a moderator will delete the unimportant posts, and move the thread into the Finished Craft Swaps folder. Either the moderator or the swap organizer can create a NEW THREAD in the SWAP GALLERY for everyone to post their pictures of their goodies if they wanted to. Please make sure to send a PM to the organizer once you recieve your gift, just because the original swap thread will be gone! Smiley

i love the idea of an earring swap!! and that journal thing sounds very interesting, how does it work exactly? like the jouranl wanders around then, gets back to you at the end, and you have a bunch of poems and art work and stuff? i guess. hm, i'd do it i think!

Smiley I think that sounds great.  Every month would be costly, but 3 times to 5 times a year sounds better.  I love handbags, I am in.
