Im pretty sure that that most hospitals in Britain will be more then happy to accept donations of small knitted clothes and hats for premuture babies.

Like the idea. . .

Am in "Wrapped In Prayer" a prayer shawl group at Church it is quite fun.  One idea when making smallish projects like scarves, cards, books, and altered comp book when makine one for yourself do one to donate to charity. . .even if they have no use for the item severyal charites have silent auctions and various fundraisers that would be able to use them to raise funds.

. . .and as for sights:

if anyone here is a knitter there's a book called "knitting for peace" that details programs, projects, and patterns to donate either locally or internationally.

I love personal swaps, accessories, disguises, animals, riding my bike, pen pals, and the Lone Star State.

hi there!  i'm not sure if this craft-a-long is still going strong or not but i thought i'd say that i'm definitely up for joining in Smiley

I have a goal of donating at least 10 boxes to Operation Christmas Child.  I made 10 stuffed animals yesterday (need to sew the final seam tomorrow).  I am collecting things like stickers, notebooks, coloring books, pens, crayons, markers, puzzles, toiletries, and i'm also thinking about knitting some hats and socks as well...

I plan to just go along this year as I am making crafts, and make an extra one or two to put in the boxes of everything I make.  I'm really excited about it! Smiley

I just started a project to make purple hearts for one of our US troops (and the husband of an Etsy gal)...I'm trying to collect as many handcrafted/handmade purple hearts (or things that have a purple heart incorporated into their design) in the next month as possible...So we can stuff a box and send them on to the hugely deserving recipient (he has been denied the official Purple Heart due to a clerical problem but has earned it...there is also a petition to get him his Purple Heart...
I've posted more info at http://www.craftlove.org...
Hope all of you will join me!
This isn't about the war or politics or hate or who is right or wrong, it's about showing someone love and support, it's about humanity.
Hope everyone is well this evening...

Hi everybody!  You've already gotten pretty far into the planning process, so it might be too late to point this out, but there's also a very similar project already going in the Charitable Causes board.

You can find the thread here:  https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=141234.0

(That's the downside of Craftster becoming so big and active ... harder to stay on top of what everyone else is doing!)

Best of luck with your efforts!

So I finally started a blog....
