i just had a thought for a cute valentine's NF, how about a love bug? beginners could make the ladybug and more advanced can whip up their own funky bug!

Oh Oh that is a FABULOUS approach.  Oh my dear teamwang if you were a lightbulb you would be a million watts.

Am thinking it might be fun to include making hearts using a cookie cutter, and turning small Needle felting into pins -- can you see it too?  the bug and the heart connected by a chain link -- like the sweater clips from the 50's

Oh that sounds super cute. I've been eyeing a few knitted caplet patterns that I would need some funky brooches or sweater clips for. I never thought of needle felting one. I think this is a super idea.

oooh i want a capelet! i think sweater clips is actually a fab idea! are those usually attatched by a pinback or by some kind of special clip? i guess maybe old clip on earring backs might work, unless someone knows of somewhere they are sold?

I've never actually owned a sweater clip so I have no idea what I'd use for the clip part. I just know that now I really want one. I love vintage stuff, and vintage inspired stuff.

Oh dear, well...... some some sweater clips -  were on clips sort of like alligator clips, some like earring clips, some had pin backs.  Though the ones with pin backs were used more for linked lapel pins or shoulder pins.

I just googled sweater clips...ebay has quite a few for .99.  I'm sure they can be reconstructed for felties.   Can't wait for the felt along !

Hmm, so is it a go with the bug on a stick (pin) for the next felt along?  And we're supposed to work in hearts somehow right?

Hi, am a bit slow, will be posting an official opening of  Feltalong #2 by this weekend.  But yes if you want to get going.  Whoopee! (glad to have you, btw. I think it will be lots of fun).  A bug of your choice and skill level, and I'll show one way of making a slightly 3D heart.  But  hope others will share methods and tips as well.  Thanks for asking.  ---Oh just had a flash, saw your kitty,  now in  a stalking needle felt rendition with a heart on chest and nose on a bug.  Grin

i started out making a bug a few days ago and it somehow turned into a whale, lol. that's just how unpredictable felting can be Smiley so the whale is off to my swap partner, and i'm now going to draw a pic of my bug first and not try to wing it! i'm gonna wait til GraceO posts the guidelines though.
ack! dont bring kitties into it as well, or my piece will turn into a mural! Wink

Hmmmm...Am I too late to feltalong?  I can't seem to find it!  Or is it not posted yet?  I am as new to Craftster as I am to needle felting Smiley
