i don't know if this is too late....

The best place to get old books, clothes, bags, and records for CHEAP is Goodwill's Buy the Pound. Clothing is $2 a pound, records are 50 cents, purses are 1-3 dollars and the same for shoes, and really cheap books. It's located at Jarvis and Richmond, or Jarvis and Adelaide. It's dirty, and you have to sort through bins of dusty stuff, but for the price, and the goodies, it's worth it.

junk and foibles on barrington is a good place to look in halifax. you will probably find little stores around barrington/spring garden area too. crafts canada is a good supply store too. sorry if i am too late!
