Well, it was my sister's birthday around a year ago (haha) and my mom and we found really cool recipe scans from a really old recipe book. The recipes were all about cutting out shapes in your cake to make them into animals!! Inspired by this, and knowing my sister's love of sharks, we decided to take the cake recipe for a fish and modify it to become a shark! All you need (if you're lazy like me lol) is cake mix, white icing, something to make an eye and fins(I used another tube of chocolate icing), a good knife, and blue and green food colouring. Cut out basic shapes of a fish (like an oval and triangles for the body and fins) after baking the cake. Then mix in a seperate bowl, a few drops of green and blue food colouring until you like it, and use the white icing for half of the cake! It's really easy and fun, and you can put any twists on it that you like! We put on additional coconut shavings with the vanilla on some parts of the fish!
(the cake looks messy in the pics hahaha...)

Enjoy!  Grin

I can tell you, Fall is composed of

1 part dead fish smell
1 part wet leaves
1 part arctic chilled air (not winter chilled variety)
2 parts crunchy walking
a pinch very cold rain
some apples you picked yourself
a few very still moments
a good deal of inner reflection

Thanks so  much for posting this. It will be my first bookmark. My oldest daughter loves all things sea creature, I'm sure this will be perfect for her birthday which is in the summer, so I'll have to wait. Sigh, anyway you rock, and so does your cake. Thanks. Smiley Darn it I'll have to wait to bookmark it. Ah well I'll be back.

It looks so yummy!

And the face kinda reminds me of Al, from FullMetal Alchemist. XD (http://www.fullmetal-alchemist.com/char-alphonse.php if anyone doesn't quite know what I'm talking about.)
