Hi everyone,

I saw this cute little vest like, slightly cap sleeved sweater cover up on a girl at Value Village a couple of weekends ago and knew that I had to attempt something like it on my own.  I asked her where she had gotten it from, and she said Guess.  I checked Guess' website a couple of days ago at work and discovered that the sweater retails for $85 CAD...yipes

http://www.guess.ca/ProductDetails.aspx?pageType=PRODUCT&cid=1112&style=Y5389669&filter=0&sort=3 (The one she was wearing was the white/cream colored one)

So this is my take on this cover up...I used an acrylic/polyester blend, but only because it was in my stash and I was itching to test out the ideas brewing in my head.  I just liked the colors in the yarn I used mostly.

I used just a little bit under 3 skeins, the stuff was called Bernat Solo...in "Rustic".  If I had more yarn, I would've made the top just slightly longer.

Does it look funny at all? Do I dear wear it out?

I agree with Fabric.  Brown is the best color!

Aww ! Thanks for all the nice comments you guys ! I was a bit weary posting it here since it was my first project...I usually knit stuff from patterns

I don't really have a "pattern" to post for this, I took my measurements and did a swatch with my yarn and sort of went from there.  I'm at work at the moment and my sheet scribbled with notes from this project are sitting on my coffee table at home.  If you guys are interested in trying this out, I'd be more than happy to attempt writing up the actual pattern for it.  I'll get around to posting something later this week.

Thanks again ! The nice comments really help as encouragement.  I'm planning on designing my own sweater coat/jacket deal or some sort of hoodie soon.  Well, as soon as I get some of my christmas knitting done.   Embarrassed (Actually I strayed away from my christmas gift deadlines just to knit this top for myself  Cool)

Sometimes it's knit and sometimes it's crochet.

I just wanted to add my Wow! to the post. Your sweater/vest looks amazing. Great color choice and I would definitely say that you should wear it in public. I'll be watching for a pattern.
