it's almost here and i haven't started my presents yet. i did buy the yarn, so that's a step. i'm thinking of sticking with scarves and hats. small and very simple. i need to start now though! but i just don't have any motivation. i'll keep puting it off and then it will too late.

yes i'm serious. but don't call me shirley.

Hey, you've already bought the yarn...go back to the store, get a proper number of needles, and give your friends & loved ones "I'm going to teach you to knit" presents.
Knitting - it's the gift that keeps on giving.

Me too! I have a lot of friends and family with birthdays this month and next as well. I have managed to get a lot of the B-day presents done but none of the x mas stuff.

I started Christmas gifts back in April. That way, I didn't feel rushed to get anything finished, and I will finish in plenty of time. I hate deadlines.

Oh, Christmas is coming sooner than we think!  I have only made one *small* gift (a wrist band for one of my nephews)  I really need to get going- I need to make 4 scarves, about 8 or 9 hats, and 3 more wrist bands.
I don't know if I'm going to make it!

Aughghg I'm so behind...I thought I was getting a head start when I began in September!  Jax3303 you are my hero.

Here's what I have completed:
  • Union Square Market Pullover (sister)
  • Kimono Shawl (mom)
  • Fir Cone Square Shawl (auntie)

Here's what still needs to be done:
  • Peacock Feathers Shawl (grandmama)
  • Another shawl MAYBE (bf's mom)
  • Gansey, just needs collar and sleeves (dad)
  • Felted Floral Bag, needs side panels and finishing work (swap)
  • 2 pairs Knitty "Cigar" gloves (cousins)
  • approximately eight quintillion pairs Fiber Trends felted slippers (everone I've ever met in my life, plus his or her mother)

**Thud** that was my fingers falling off and bouncing on the floor.  There's absolutely no way I'm going to finish.  If I retain my sanity, that is...but then, that's questionable to begin with.

eunny--I bow to you!  wow--you have some lucky relatives.

I'm making socks--only for those who will appreciate them, some felted oven mitts, a couple of scarves and cowls, and hats for all the kids.

I have the pattern for the fiber trends clogs and i can't wait to make a pair for me!

Yikes!  Shocked I didn't realize Christmas was so close until the other day! My problem is that, even though I knit the things pretty fast, I keep giving them to the people instead of saving them for Christmas!!!! The only things I have saved are the afghans I did for my dad and bros (who I won't see until the holidays).

I would really like to do a nice sweater for hubby and grown son. Probably do a hat/scarf for son. I have some things in mind for my daughter, but she's a Craftster, too, so I don't want to take a chance that she'll read this!

I have a ton of other projects going on, but these are my knitting ones.

Mom: scarf made out of a teal furry/eyelashy yarn  Caron-Allure maybe?
Dad: ribbed scarf made out of soft dark green yarn
Husband: ribbed scarf made out of black Caron-Simply soft
Nephew: MAYBE a baby hat made out of the blue/yellow boucle from Target

I'm also knitting myself a scarf to wear this winter.  I just learned how to knit and have only finished one non-functioning scarf (furry green yarn that looks like grass and isn't very warm)

What's good though is the only one I HAVE to finish for Christmas is the one for my mom.  My dad's birthday's in January and my husband's is in February so I have a little flexibility with theirs if they end up being more complicated than I anticipate.

Plus the baby hat might be more useful for my future nephew/niece, who is due early in the year.  Every baby needs hats, but my nephew already has tons I'm sure.
