yeah, i don't understand why a designer would build several inches of ease into something like this.  oh well.  i'm one step closer to accepting that muslins are pretty smart things to make.

the front edges aren't turned back...i thought about trying that, but there just isn't much room between them and the side front sections at the bottom.  i'm not really eager to set 14 more eyelets, but it might still be a possibility, somehow.

it seemed like 'using' the lacing on the back would create unpleasant wrinkles.  it was just supposed to be drawn through loops of fabric, though.  you're right...i should check if cinching up the bottom of the back miraculously makes the top of the front fit...

i hope no one feels like i'm dissing their corsets.  i just can't imagine feeling comfortable in one.  i'm a fashion wimp, really.
