Finished mine tonight! (Mostly...)

This brooch doesn't really go but it's the only one I have for the time being.

this was my first attempt at the long tail cast on.  it was hard figuring it out, especially trying to alternate between knit and purl for the ribbing.  i really like it.  i think it looks nicer, although that might just be my sense of accomplishment telling me that.  what do others think of the long tail cast on?

as far as the caplet goes, i have a few inches done.  its been hard finding knitting time with this freaking film festival going on at my work.  but, only one more day...

i'm picking up yarn for this soon. i'd like to just order from knitpicks, but i need this quick and don't have time to wait on backorders and shipping.  Angry

i ALWAYS use long tail cast-on. i get annoyed if i think i may have to cast on a different way. but i also am a continental knitter, so maybe that's why i like it so much?

Reaaallll stupid question.... but are you guys using straight or circular needles? I've been knitting on straight, but it looks like its getting real crowded.

circs here. Always circs whenever possible. So much more comfortable. You dont have to move your arms as much.

Also, I did long tail co too. Looks so much nicer!

daaaaamn.... I'm totally running out of room on my straight needles and I don't have a pair of circs in the size I'm using, and my LYS closes tomorrow at 5 and I don't get a lunch break tomorrow, so I can't even possibly pick any up until WEDNESDAY!!! The HORROR!!!!!!!

Good thing I have pottery tomorrow night to keep me slightly occupied. But still.... I'm on a roll with this capelet. The humanity of it all!

yay! finished!

i like the stockinette side more with this yarn, it shows the little details better.

Made with awesome thrift store wool that I've had lying around for ages! I have tons of it left too...Smiley
I probably won't wear it with that brooch, but it was the one i grabbed for the photo.

I love it! I think I'm going to make my mom a pretty one for christmas.
