Here's my cat bed!  I really am quite happy with it, too.   Grin  .

The kitties sort of use it so far... but it's so HOT here right now.  I'm hoping they'll really snuggle up to it in the winter.  Right now they either just sit in it, or lay ACROSS it instead of IN it.  I wish I had a pic of them, but I have to go to my mom's house to take pictures.  Still, I thought I needed SOME kind of animal pic... here is my parents' dog sniffing, and sniffing... and sniffing... at the lingering kitty smell.  Cute!

asuttles- I'm not really a cat person (extremely allergic Sad), but that pic of the little kitty is so adorable! Give him a squeeze for me. Smiley
I want to make some of these for my friend's cats, but want the sides stiffer. Would foam work ok, or shold I use plastic bags so it makes noises? Will it wash ok with either of those in it?

Valeriana officinalis is the offical (haha...) name of Valerian or Valerian root.  It's not the same as catnip, for which the official botanical/latin name is Nepeta lamiaceae I believe.

However, the two different plants have the same effects on cats.

I'm finishing up my first princess snowball cat bed for my fluffy princess right now.  The wall portion does seem to take FOREVER!  But hopefully I will get there soon!   Smiley
