Before my grandmother died a few years ago, she tried to teach me how to sew with no avail. After her death I avoided even the SUBJECT of sewing because I was so depressed by how I couldnt have figured it out while she was alive. During the weekend while I was stuck in bed sick I decided to try and figure out one of her many sewing machines that is sitting around (the woman had about six, lol) and voila! I followed the tutorials from https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=10347.0 and http://personal.mem.bellsouth.net/d/r/drv1913/0204.html

Granted it's nothing special, but I feel like my grandmother would be proud. Smiley

Originally I was going to use the fabric for a pillow to match my obviously yellow sheets, but I changed my mind. I also think I should have used blue thread so that maybe it would have "popped" a bit more, but I'm content with the yellow. There are about seven signatures, so it's around 40+ pages, and I sewed a different kind of fabric on the inside covers to make it more cushier, if thats a word. The pages are all different styles and textures for my pencil and ink drawings, and I even put some sheet music in there for my song writing! What do you guys think? Tips? Should I add anything more to it?

I love that my thumb is black and blue from being stabbed repeatedly. I was halfway through before I finally realized what a thimble was, haha.  Roll Eyes
