A friend of mine sent me three skeins of Loft Classic in red.

Any suggestions as to what I can make with it?

I've personally always loved shawls. I'm making Seraphina's Shawl right now. It works up very easily and after a while to don't have to reference the pattern at all.

Three balls won't get you a ton of yardage to make a sweater or vest or something.  However, you probably have enough to make a pretty cool hat.

check out lionbrand's site and search under free patterns for chunky yarns. There are a few projects there that don't take a lot of yarn.

Thanks for the suggestions.

The yarn is a worsted weight yarn, maybe even sportweight.  It's 100m total.

With the intensity of the color and the nice feel of the yarn, I really don't understand why I just have no idea what to do with it.

I guess that is my dilemma--what do I not have that I could make from only 300m of yarn?  I suppose that I will come up with something eventually.

Thanks again, everybody. Smiley

Someone suggested that I make a moebius wrap using a big hook.  I'm making it using plain dc and an 8.00 mm hook, and I'm planning to wear it to my old roommate's wedding in March.

I hope to be able to post some significant progress soon.

That pattern looks very interesting, thanks for sharing it! Also, the yarn looks gorgeous. You have a kind friend there. (Coincidently, I was going to suggest a shrug or something similar.)
