Hullo!

I have a bunch of wool yarn that sort of an ucky light brown color. I really want to use it for something but not in its current state of dullness. I've never dyed anything before so I was hoping yall might have some tips for me. Since Im not sure if its something Im going to be into I dont want to spend a whole lot of money on supplies.

Any tips or hints would be GREATLY appreciated!

Susan,

Just how light is the yarn, and did you have an idea of what color you'd like it to be? If you don't want too dramatic a color change (keep it in the brown/oranges/reds) you could go for kool-aid, which is really easy & very cheapo.

Its a very light sort of natural looking brown. I was hoping for a purple but you're probably right about staying in the orangy range. Its a sport weight if that makes any difference.

Thanks!
