I really want to make this sweater from Magknits http://www.magknits.com/chilly04/patterns/donna.htm
But the yarn is uber expensive ($85 for 10 balls) does anyone know of a good substitute yarn?  Thanks!

Well I dont know the answer, but when Im in this situation I look at the gauge and compare it to other yarns' gauges. As long as you can get 5 stitches to the inch with US 6 needles, it will work. Sport or DK sizes may work for this. Point is cotton and elastic, so my recommendation would be to try to find something similar so that the drape of the fabric will lay a similar way as on the model in the picture.
