Yes, I totally agree.  You could always swap aim info with fellow craftsters, in the mean time.

I would love a chat feature! It would be great for those "emergency" questions that you need answered quickly.

If you are not vigilant and demanding of your talent everyday, you will slowly become what you hate.

Could we do a 'real time' tutorial?  I don't have a digital camera yet, so I would only be able to offer 'words'. My forte is brainstorming and coming up with ideas off the cuff (!).
I have recently been getting to know my serger and experimenting with it, so would love to have a 'chat' about what can be done with a serger.  We could even have 5 minute 'breaks' where we go off and try something.

I would find something like this exciting am I alone?

I think having tutorials might be a little tricky, especially iif someone is working on a big project.  Like...making a collage-topped table.  A chat would be great for just connecting with people and making friendships with other crafters.  Forums are great for exchanging information, but we can't really talk about non-crafty things without going completely off-topic, and that makes forming friendships a bit tricky.

Lots of people have mentioned the chat thing in the past.  I must admit that I've never really done online chat.  But it seems like something some people are really into!

For those who do lots of online chat, can you give me some recommendations as to what chat software works better than others?  Or perhaps can you tell me if chat programs written in Java as opposed to some other language are better or worse?

Also, I may or may not be able to get it to work so that your username on Craftster is your username on the chat board.  But I may be able to.  Don't know that quite yet.  If not, people will probably have to sign up with a username that's the same or just let people know who they are "on Craftster."

I don't know this site's abilities but CafePress has a forum powered by ezboard and when you sign-in, it lets you to use chat feature with your same forum username.
I don't know the best chat programs around but I know that the one similar to Yahoo's will suck! I never get them work properly.
Hope you can do it easily..
