I remember doing this when I was about 8. But instead of the nylon ring things,
I used cheapy yarn in a rainbow pattern...I used to do it all the time till my "project"
stretched from oneside of the room to the other Grin

Hmmm, I wonder if you can make anything else out if it than just a long strap ??

Instructions on how to do this with yarn are here: www.camp-a-roo.com/gift.shtml
at the bottom of the page. I'm trying to find projects to make out of it, for a class to teach kids.
Any ideas would be great;p

maybe if you try just www.camp-a-roo.com

if you go down to the 3rd paragraph there is a link for  "great gift ideas" It will take you to a craft page

At the bottom is the finger weaving/knitting/crochet.

Hope that works for you.

growing up in hawai'i, we made 'finger leis' out of yarn.  it looked exactly the same. my sisters and i made them all the time, we had a red heart yarn stash.
