My other half and I just decided to uproot our family and move all the way from San Francisco to Chicago (my home city).

We are not in constant or even frequent contact with a lot of our friends and family members, so I want to send out moving announcements with the new addy and phone#, and the date we will be there, because if people keep calling us asking if we've moved yet I am going to get really pissed off.  I have only a month and a week to put this move together.

For the announcement, I want to include some kind of funny/witty/etc. text in addition to the address - something to make it very noticeable and CLEAR that we have moved *quite* far away and not just around the corner.  The problem is that I SUCK at coming up with stuff like that.  Really, really bad.

I need some kind of goofy, slogan-y thing about moving from CA to Illinois.  Or a song lyric.  Or a joke about politics.. something... help!!

TIA!  I'll post pics when I'm done with them!

I might leave some of my heart in San Francisco but my ass will be living in sweet home Chicago.

when i moved from mi to pa, i did an outline of each state, with a dotted line from my city to the new city i was living in...kinda like in indiana jones. that was on the front (with something like 'i've moved!', and the back had my new contact info.

Not exactly what you were looking for, but I bought moving cards once that were made from cardboard pieces and it said, "We're living out of boxes!" and the new address was below.

I want your promo stickers...your fave local band, your etsy shop, your zine, a sticker you picked off a bar wall, or even bumper stickers! I'm covering a table & need stickers! PM me!

What about taking a pic of you and your family but have everyone create some kind of movement as it's been taken and then put a caption of "We moved" at the bottom with your new addy. I once saw a card like that, and thought it was pretty clever.

Looking to do a personal swap for any boyish nursery print flannels! I can send polymer clay charms, purses, paper crafts, microscope slide pendant kit, and a lot more.
