has anyone ever made a mermaid costume? I'm usually pretty nifty on halloween but want to do something pretty great for a change, dont even know if i am going anywhere yet but i need a cosutme just in case yes?
So.. mermaid costume idea's and tips from when you made one? pictures if you have any. would all be much appreciated,

havent attempted a mermaid costume before, but for the tail, i guess you could get a nice pair of fitted, tapered pants, dye it green, and sew peices of fabric coming off the sides down by the feet to look like a tail... that way you can still walk normally, and when standing, keep your legs together for the full tail effect.

have tossled hair, some seeweed or sea shells maybe...

post a picture of what you come up with!

I didn't wear this mermaid costume for Halloween (I bought it for a parade and then ended up getting hired to be a mermaid in a VIP tent at a concert/benefit, which is where the picture was taken) but it is by far my favorite costume ever.

It was made by the girl who runs Fox Moon Productions. She's the best.

check that out... that should give you an idea. Smiley
It's pretty extravegant and she said she didn't walk around in it though... But you could modify it a bit.

been looking up pictures of Coney Island mermaid Parade and that has given me lots and lots of idea's have bidded on some fabric so will keep you all posted. fingers crossed i can get it sorted in time :-D yay yay
