I did this for a barnmate whose horse passed away  Mane and tail were removed with a dremel then resculpted with two-part epoxy. Model was then painted with black gesso and blocked in with lighter colors/chalk pastels.

Not super super thrilled with the outcome, but she liked it!

I like the bronzed look of the finished piece--that's quite a transformation from the black and white patterned coat of the original!  That was a very thoughtful gift for your grieving fellow horse lover!
