That is a genious idea! I'd love to decorate it.

I was thinking about getting a Zen Micro. I'm in need of an mp3 player and I don't want a stupid ipod.
What do you think of the Zen Micro? And dislikes? Also what size one fits into the altoid case?

I already decorated it but really badly so i need to get another tin this weekend.  I also didn't want to get an ipod but so far i really don't have any dislikes.  I have already dented the altiod tin with the mp3 player in it twice and it still works perfectly! I have also droped it a few time too.  All the micros will fit in the tin but with space for some padding like felt. I <3 my micro and for a plus there are 10 differnt colors and for the same price as a 4GB ipod mini is for the 5GB micro.

I got all excited by the cute case for the mp3 and then when i clicked the lnk hal posted and realized you can actually make your own-!*-*!!!
Not that i have the know how to actually do the whole project but i like that the option is there. I also have been cosidering mp3's that are not ipod. I actually have really old Zen- it's the size of a walkman and resets itself randomly though.
So, I like your case and i like the possibilities it involves.

i've got a pretty zen micro (in purple -- which is a bit more red purple than the picture on the Creative site shows, but whatever). I love it, but every once in a while I do have complaints. Like it will randomly have spaz attacks and not feel like working, or won't connect to the computer or upload songs. Then again I do kick it around a lot, so maybe making an altoids case would be a good idea. I had to send in my first zen in the same color the first time because it didn't work. There seem to be a few complaints about the zen micro. But I still would never get an Ipod.
That altoids case thing is a great idea. Is there anything special you did make it beside drill a hole in the top?

I added felt to the top were the screen closes so it doesn't scrath.  I have had it for about a month and i use it everyday and NO problem whats so ever, so the altiods tins really works for me.

altoid tins = awesome.
not to steal you steam, but here's a guitar distortion effect I made a while back.

I've since added a bypass switch to it, right on the front.
