We're in the middle of making one of our rooms into a computer den, and our furniture in the room is a darkish wood color. The cupboard doors are white (you know the accordian like doors that have the slats in the middle panels?), and we're trying to do this as cheaply as possible while still making it look good. The doors are in good condition though, and we'd really like to just "change the color". .. . ..how do we do this Sad ? We can't "stain" it right? And if we paint it, will it still have that kinda wood-like look?. .. you know the like indents/grain showing etc.? Help! We're both hopelessly lost when it comes to Home DIY  Huh

Notclear from your post if the doors are wood or plastic, but if they have wood-like grooves and indents, those will still show up. Either way, you can sand them, clean with a tack cloth, and paint. It'd be good to prime before you paint, to make sure the paint "sticks."

Good luck!

I believe they're called louvered doors or bi-fold doors.  "Louvered" refers to the slats. "Bi-fold" refers to the number of sections each door has... thus if there are 3 sections, it could be called a tri-fold door and so on... I hope that helps....
