hey...here's my first baby poncho (come to think of it...first poncho, period) that i've finished.  it was a present for my niece on her 1st birthday.  i had tons of this peach 100% cotton yarn by sugar n cream (which made it a bit stiff and heavy) and, unfortunately, the hood was too small for her.  here's where i got the pattern: http://www.coatsandclark.com/fun_and_free/yarn/lw1432.htm

here's a pic of her in it...ain't she purty?

it was tricky to begin a new round, since it's hard to discern from the pattern exactly what stitch it is you're joining.  but the bulk of the pattern was pretty easy and monotonous.  the hood was a bit more complicated and i had some problems finishing off.  toward the end, i got a little sloppy and just tucked away all the loose ends...i figure she'll grow out of it in about two months, anyway.

oh, and the fringe - that was actually difficult!  it was so hard to see the stitches from the first row!  so i just kind of guessed.  Roll Eyes
