Has anyone ever attempted to can Apple Pie Filling?  For gifts each year at Christmas to my extended family I give canned goods of things that came out of my garden.  However when I was at the Farmer's Market last weekend they had some awesome Stayman apples at a great price.  I would like to can some Apple Pie filling using these apples and wanted to know if anyone has ever done this before and suggestions?

One of my favorite apple pies is the Moosewood, which was posted here

https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=56457.0 .

I would really like to use this recipe if at all possible.
