Hey, I was wondering if anyone could give me a simple pattern for an A-line skirt? Is it possible to make one without using a zipper, but rather having elastic around the waist? Or if it looks nicer with a zipper, is it easy to make, because I've never done that before. Thanks!!

Here's a pattern for a circle skirt- if you make the waist measurement a bit bigger you can just add elastic.

Another way to do it is to quickly draft your own.
Measure around yourself where you want the skirt to sit (waist,hips).....

Let me get this straight - the patter is 4 pieces instead of 2, right?  Huh

Sorry for the stupid question.  Undecided

The top diagram is for the front and is 1 piece. the line down the center is the desired length (and there to form symmetry)
The bottom diagram is the back and is to be cut twice, so that the zipper can be put in the center back of the skirt.

If you would rather put a zipper in the side seam, just cut two of the piece for the front, and use them as front and back. don't forget to add seam allowances, hem allowances and 2 inches total for ease of fit.
