I'm sure we've all seen it. Discount bins at yarn stores, where the label has been ripped off the ball/skein and so no one knows what brand it is, how long it is, or what it's made of.

Wouldn't it be kinda nifty to get a few of those balls and trade off? No one knows what they may be getting, because no one knows what the heck the yarn is in the first place! You may end up getting something really good, or you may get something that you just can't make anything out of no matter how hard you try.

Personally, I think a swap like this would be fun. If there are people interested, I'll probably end up arranging one once the new year comes.

So have I. That's why I thought of doing this. I originally bought some, thinking I could make a scarf out of it, and then realised that it wasn't quite what I was hoping for. Since it was on clearance, and had no price tag anyway, it wasn't as though I could have returned it, but now I have nothing to do with it.

I figure a swap is a good way to get rid of that yarn, and possibly get my hands on something I can actually use.

I think this is an excellent swap idea! I have a lot of mystery yarn to share.
If you could hold off until the end of October, I would love to do it.

I won't be doing it until sometime early 2006, so there's plenty of time.

I'm only waiting that long so that I know I'll be able to have the money for shipping. I'm a poo' poo' wabbit right now. XD
