i work in an oxfam vintage... before i worked there i thought it was all a bit overpriced, but the lady that runs it is an expert in vintage clothing. she knows everything! i have to say that now i know a bit more about it, i think the pricing is really cheap! i got a black shirt for a fiver in there. and it was brilliant quality and i think would have cost at least 20 new.

...yes you could go to primark/tesco etc. but the quality of the stuff in there is not great and the people making the clothes in third world countries are getting paid next to nothing.

plus the stuff that we can't sell goes to "wastesaver" (like someone else has already said). or it'll go to another oxfam vintage. we date everything we put out so we can take it off after a month and send it elsewhere to be sold.... we also clean and steam everything before it goes out so it doesn't have that weird charity shop smell. most of the stuff looks like new. it's like a proper vintage clothing boutique! and cheaper too!
