Through the looking glass....

no photo...I had a skirt that looked the way I was thinking of, but so long ago and I gave it to my sister.

It was only slightly the look I want...
basically, I liked the short skirt that I saw in this chain (is this the one you are making, shade??):

http://www.myrebe.com/shopexd.asp?id=157

I wanted to create something like that but longer, and also, I'm a beginner, so I know the fabrics I picked out before for my last project didn't work because the fabric wasn't working with me.

I also dont do good with the waist lines yet.

I think many things could be cured simply with a sewing machine, but I see time and time again that my mom will exclaim to me: "Why did you BUY a sewing machine, when I have one in my house on the east coast?"...she can easily go and pick it up, she is over there every weekend, she just doesn't bother looking for it, so it's not over here....so if I buy one, I stab her in the back, and if I ask her to bring it over here any quicker, she gets all touchy.

!!!!!

there's no winning!  but a sewing machine would definitely make my life easier.
!
thanks for the help! I look forward to the photo and tutorial for the shorter skirt ;-)

I was about to request a handkerchief hem skirt, then I realised the skiry that's already been requested is similar to what I'm looking for... I will wait , shivering in anticipation! Smiley

the lil rag tag skirt I was workin on had to be put aside to fill orders off my site... I apologise- I will get back to it soon:)

Bra help? I'm a 32F (38 full bust) been trying to adapt/create a pattern. Getting sort of close but struggling mightily with the cups and their darts. Any tips or pattern recommendations? Obviously support is very necessary, but lack of bra making experience has me making a modified cami type cup (sort of rounded, tapered triangle with a 3x3.25 dart) out of ease and then deciding from there how to improve support. But tips would be greatly appreciated if you have any bra making/drafting experience.

haven't drafted any bras...I will look into it and see what I can do...

Tight pants are fairly simple just be sure you choose a fabric with at least a little stretch...

the book a refer back to the most is

ah! I have a simplicity pattern for lounge pants (dont know off hand which it is, but it comes with three different length skirts and three different length pants [short, capri, pant]). I'm having...a lot of trouble with it. I think I messed it up (never made anything but purses before.. so... its hard for me).

So maybe now I can actually get help on it..
