hello chaps.

My finances are in a terrible state of late so I've resorted to making birthday presents for people.

My friend tried on this hat in Accessorize and loved it...

It's a modified newsboy cap with a swirl knit.

Does anyone know where I could find a similar pattern for free?

I've never attempted a hat before, do you think that might be too much work for a novice?

That's the kind of hat I'm looking to make as well... unfortunately I don't have a pattern either. Maybe one day I'll just wing it... one day... when my skills are a little better.

I would like to revive this thread. That is an ADORABLE hat, and I think with my intermediate knitting skillz, I could make it, with enough determination at figuring out the pattern. But any help would be GREATLY appreciated!! 'specially since I can't really bust out the needles, they haven't moved with me yet, so I'll have to just theorize for the time being.

The pattern isn't for the same hat, but it is a similar style and maybe you could adapt from that.

There is this one too (the pattern is on her blog, I think).

It's still on my list of things to knit for Christmas (2006  Undecided).

Wow. Someone dug up this thread? It's so old Grin

I'm a fickle craftster and thus my enthusiasm for such projects waned about a year ago...

but thanks for the links anyway!
