Lately, i have been deviating from my usual pieces of oil or pencil drawings and instead into watercolor. This is just a quick painting of a hercules beetle i found in a really old animal/ wildlife book. overall, i like how it turned out, so far it is my best watercolor painting. Some things i would of done differently- put more texture into the tree trunk/ bark and i would of probably made it more anatomically correct. o, well. hope you like it!

i was definately thinking of doing a series of boug watercolor paintings, not only do they help me refine my technique but i really like how beetles and other bugs look. Now i just have to find some more cool bug pictures!
