I whipped these up last night and just finished stitching the cherries and stars......I started out with flour sack towels...but they were WAY not square...so I cut them down to napkin size...used a decerative stitch around the edge to sew up a hem...and stitched the bride's favorite icon...cherries...and stars on the other corners!

Very nice!
I love the look of the decorative machine stitch, it compliments your handstitching nicely.

thanks!

I just cut the flour sack towels down to 22 by 20 inches (I think) Ironed up a folded hem...pinned it...and then used a colored thread on my sewing machine to stitch up a decorative hem...and then ironed on the patterns and stitched on the embroidery!

So cute! Way to go with the embroidered napkin idea! It's definitely the way to go - useful, doesn't take up much space, and personalized. Check out my monogrammed napkins in this same forum....

Again - well done!
