I live in the south shore and have gone to boston mainly on field trips when I was a kid. I don't know the area so I can't very well go thier for crafty stuff (i'm afraid of new places). i was wondering if anyone new of good stores (preferably cheap) in the south shore. I'm on a VERY tight budget but I love crafting and sewing. I'm looking for places with cheap fabrics and trim, etc. But any good crafty places will do.

I'm a fat, crafty chick. LOUD AND PROUD!

Check out my bi-weekly podcast where two twenty something heterosexual women (who act like fifty something gay men) discuss geek culture, pop culture and all things Disney, Doctor Who and theater.

sewfisticated in dorchester has the best cheap stuff.  tons of variety, very good fabric.
saftler's in whitman has amazing remnants, usually priced very well.  their trim is kind of pricey, but they have nice stuff.

other than that, there's michaels, joanns, and walmart...there's a kind of new place in hull, but i haven't been in yet.

i'd love to know if anyone else knows of anything...i'm not a south shore native, and can never find anything.
just discovered the joy of alpaca...this could get expensive
