Hi there. I'm getting, uhm, started with Getting Things Done (the book/faintly creepy nerd cult), and was wondering if anyone else was working with this system and had any ideas. I'm still at the phase of being all overwhlemed by the filing, the lists and the inbox. How do you do it? Do you have any crafty solutions?

I tried google-ing this but didn't come up with any exact answer.  Can you give me a breif synopsis?  Sorry I can't be of help, but you've piqued my curiosity!

This site has a good introduction to GTD.  http://www.43folders.com/2004/09/getting_started.html

Good luck getting organized. I haven't joined the "cult" yet, as it doesn't seem to be my kind of thing, but I know a couple of people who have and they rave about it.

BTW, my fav life organization site is this one (they also provide info re: GTD) they always have great info.

Thanks, all. I'm sorry I didn't provide a better explanation. 'Getting Things Done' is a book by a guy named David Allen about getting organised, but it's kind of more about that. It's about putting all your 'stuff,' either mental or physical, into one area and organising it from there. The idea is that with all the 'stuff' gone you're more relaxed and capable of dealing with stuff. Which sounds like a great idea, but it involves a lot of filing and  the creation of inboxes and so on, all stuff which I predict can be done in a crafty way.

Nabbymac - I have seen 43folders, and it's a great site, I was just hoping to hear from some 'real life' people in the cult.
