I hope you like it...picking songs was a lot more difficult than I thought it would be!  I passed the good news on to my brother, he's swelling with pride Wink (surround sound is my brother's band).  That's him singing and playing guitar, by the way.  Heehee.  Well, enjoy!!  I can't wait to see what other people got!

I received a CD full of the sounds of Lubbock, Texas today from Ongir. I am listening to it right now and really enjoying it. Here's the play list:

2. That's Right (You're not from Texas) - Lyle Lovett
3. (Happiness is Lubbock) Texas in My rearview Mirror - Mac Davis
4. Django Like - Brian McRae
5. Leaving Lubbock - Joel Butler
6. My Wildest Dreams Grow Wilder Everyday - The Flatlanders
7. Over Lubbock - John Hermann
8. Mammas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys - Willie Nelson
9. The Night The Cafe Burned - The Thrift Store Cowboys
10. Lubbock - Milton Mapes
11. Something to Loose - Lloyd Maines, Ned Sublette, Yomo Toro
12. You Got It - Roy Orbison
13. Lonely Lubbock Lights - Aaron Watson
14. Good Heated Hearted Woman - Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson
15. West Texas Waltz - Joe Ely
16. Landslide - Dixie Chicks
17. Cotton Patch Blues - Bob WIlls and the Texas Playboys
18. Rave On - Buddy Holly

Here's the cover art. It's Huge "Buddy" Cotton and his audience, jack rabbit, rattle snake and prairie dog.

I'm glad you liked it!

Also... that should be "Good Hearted Woman" not heated.... a good heated woman made me laugh really,  really loudly. Cheesy

It was actually rather hard finding songs that were on a mp3 format or on CD.  There is too much independent rock country in this town.

Do you know Sufjan Stevens? He just put out an entire recored about Illinois. If you know him but aren't a fan - nevermind. But if you haven't heard him, check it out. I love him. He's also got an entire record about MIchigan.

I've received my package from molsballou today.
OMG, I'm so happy, I can't tell!! I went running around my flat, screaming (and eating tomatos at the same time, but that's not the point). It's probably the prettiest thing I've ever seen. I haven't started listening to the CD yet as I don't have any time now (I had to leave the house before 10 minutes, but I couldn't resist posting), but..
molsballou, I don't even want to unfold the mag. It looks so.. So.. Wonderful. And your writing is very nice, BTW.
I'll post pics as soon as I get home (yes, I'm home right now but can't post).

Thanks a milliom  Grin  Grin

I looove Sufjan Stevens! I have the Michigan CD, need to get the Illinois CD and wait for the CD from my home state, Pennsylvania! Thank goodness for the iTunes store - I don't think he is popular (yet?) here in The Netherlands as I've never seen any of his CD's here.
