I just bought a new backpack for school and it looks really plain. I wanted to stitch something to put on it. I'm not sure if it will stay on the canvas material anyways, but I'm also wondering if mabe the stitching will get dirty or fall apart. Any thoughts?

I say go for it!

If your backpack get's dirty then the stitching will get dirty.  And there is nothing wrong with being dirty!

you should be fine stitching on your backpack and if you use a stitch that locks itself down, like a split stitch, you should have no problem with loose stitches from wear or washing.  i have a bag with a jenny hart robot on it that i carry all the time and have had no problems.

stich away, my sister!
