None.  I just wanted to make my own toys, so I did.  I used to make them way back when, but got tired of all the hand sewing. I got a nice sewing machine, but only to realise that it doesn't help because all my figures are pretty small and too hard to sew with a machine - not enough straight-ish lines.  That and I am not very good at using a machine yet...

HA! Awesome!  I love the pepper!  Have you ever seen Kaiju Big Battel?  That might give you some character ideas too.  The pepper reminds me of the Los Platanos.

The books are useful the patterns are set out so well that you can use them without having to read japanese.  I have a few and I do not read japanese at all.

Also in regards to the plastic eyes with the really hard backs to put on.... get a cotton reel and use it to push the back down onto the shank.... no more sore fingers.
