I was pawing through the Fabric Pile, and came across some faux leather and suede.
I decided to plan an "Ethel" Tote. I thought the suede bag and a faux leather pocket.

I asked my husband if that might work. He asked if I had enough leather to make the entire tote from leather. So, I did. I had already decided to use webbings for the handles. DH requested shoulder length. I had enough, so I did.

Well begun is half done

Done, done, done, done, done.

What do you think, Craftsters?

Thank you.
I hadn't thought of it when we married, but if a seamstress wants to be not complained at about the price of fabric, marry a Welder.
The price of any metals is so far beyond fabric prices that they don't even worry about it. (1 sheet of metal [4'X8']  is $96. Silk duppoini is $39.19/M)
Furthermore, my husband is always happy to indulge me with whatever I happen to have an interest in.

Excellent leather satchel! And philosophy too Smiley.

Thank you. I'm pleased with how it turned out.

I'm glad that I had taken sewing in 8th grade. (I received "standing granted" which meant, "get out of my sewing room and don't come back.") It helped when I got a sewing machine from a garage sale.

Hubby said that he likes the pockets for organizing. But, he said that he would not continue to take it to work. Because, the shop is dusty and dirty everywhere. The bag would get  really dirty. I told him, that's why it's washable. If you end up washing it every week, that's fine. This morning, he came out with, "I don't want to wreck it."  Smiley Cheesy Grin Roll Eyes I replied, "Now, you sound like my Mum." [Mum saved EVERYthing "for good."] I continued to say that it's washable. It looks good. Why not carry it? It organizes your stuff.
Then, I said, "I'll make you one for 'Uptown'." So, he relented, and this is his new "Work Bag"
