It's not completed yet, but I think under the current circumstances it's time to post it now.

I haven't been able to craft much over the past couple of years, but a few years ago I partcipated in 2 EPP hexie swaps and sewing them together has been my main project ever since. I've had a stressful few years and handstitching has been a great wat to relax.

The finished quilt will be 2x2 m and will contain about 400 hexies. It's too big for my living room floor but the weather is too bad to take pics outside.

Sorry for the crappy phone pics, but I had a few spare moments now and wasn't sure if I was able to post it otherwise.

The card is standard postcard size, for scale. The 3d picture shows the back.

Thanks to my fellow swappers and organizers:

I just need to cut a few extra squares from my own stash and I'm sure I'll get it finished this year. I will cherish this quilt forever and it will be a great daily reminder of the wonderful community I was a part of for almost half of my life.

How beautiful! I've seen (online) one other large hexie quilt like that, and it is such a big project! And, hand-sewn, whew!

I remember that swap...so many amazing fabrics from so many amazing friends...

Brought tears to my eyes when you said putting your hexies together helped you through a rough patch...Craftster and all of the swappers have been a rock in my life through the years as well...

Looks wonderful...and I spy a few of the ones I made!  Hope to get going on a project to use up the ones I got in the swap as well!

Thanks for sharing...lovely
