Hello! I need some advice!
I had this great idea of buying ceramic mini loaf pans and having my kids paint them. I then want to bake breads in  them and give them as gifts for the holidays. But now I'm ran into a problem where I cant figure out a paint that is permanent and also safe to bake after?! People will want to wash them and keep them so the paint obviously needs to be waterproof too. Am I over thinking this? Should we just use permanent marker? Is there some kind of gloss or glaze that will be safe to bake after? Any advice is appreciated, thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pebeo is one brand that makes a glass/porcelain/ceramic paint that is permanent when set and baked.  I am not sure it is food safe though - so it may be good for painting on the outside of bake ware.  It is dishwasher safe.  I have used it for tiles, cups, metals, etc.

Pebeo Vitrail is the series for glass - so more translucent, and Pebeo Porcelaine is the brand for ceramics/porcelain.  They come in tubes, containers, and marker versions.  There are other brands as well, but these and another one I bought off of the Home Shopping Network many years ago are the only brands I have used.
