Hi there.  I'm new here and reasonably new to seeing.  I've done a couple simple quilts, a couple of girls summer dresses and one failure of a circle skirt for myself (the gathering at the waistband makes me look frumpy) but other than that my experience is nil.  I am a curvy, chubby woman wanting to make a pair of palazzo type pants with legs that have nearly the total fullness of a circle skirt.  I have two questions about this project.  To achieve the desired fullness at the bottom would it be better to (a) simply cut the fabric at a much wider angle than my pattern or (b) to add in an extra gore panel(s) along the inner and/or outer seam? Second question:  to avoid my previous mistake with the circle skirt should I pleat it at the waistband and reinforce the waistband with a stiffer material so it doesn't fold over on itself?

Thanks in advance!

Maybe ask at www.thesewingplace.org.uk/index.php
there is also threadsmagazine forum but not sure if it is still active.
I usually post a question at a few forums to get more answers or tips etc.
