Hello, This is my first time on the forum and I am a total newbie to working with leather. Bought a big piece at a garage sale a while back and I made a beer koozie so far, not fancy like the ones on etsy, but works for me lol.

I am wanting to make my father in-law a tape measure holder, but I can't seem to find that little metal piece pictured here: https://www.dickies.com/tool-bags/rigid-nail-%2F-screw-work-pouch-with-tape-measure-clip/L10150.html

Does anyone know what they are called or where to get them?

I appreciate any help / info!

Thank You!

Do you mean the clip in the back that holds the entire pouch to a belt/waistband, or do you mean the bent piece of metal in the front to clip the measure to?

If it is the former - you could repurpose a belt clip from somewhere else, or make your own by making a belt loop or something.  If it is the latter, you could make a leather or heavy duty canvas version that could clip a tape measure to - but it would wear out.  Or, if you can metalwork (or know someone who can) then take some thicker gauge metal, cut it, do the two bends, punch two holes in the ends, smooth the edges with some filing/sanding, and rivet the pieces on the front of your pouch.
