I’m trying to narrow it down so I can look at the model differences & finally make a decision. Its so confusing trying to jump back & forth since they all seem to offer their own “features” w/ terms unique to that brand.

Need some sage advice Smiley

*Been looking at Viking, Bernina, and Pfaff so far so they’re the ones I know the most about. So hoping u can help me narrow down to 1 of those.

*Buying from 2nd hand market (either FB marketplace or eBay). Will choose a well cared for machine that’s been serviced. Yes I know that means no warranty & many feel that going through a dealer is preferred-but the only real option in my area is sewingmachineplus and the location is very poorly rated.

*Budget max is $1,500. Looking at machines 5-10 years old.

*Hoping to get a combo machine since my Viking 630 has some stitch length consistency issues.

NEED:
•Minimum 5x7 embroidery field (STRONGLY prefer larger)
•Auto needle threader
•Top & Bobbin thread sensor + Independent bobbin winder
•90 degree design adjustment (strongly prefer more adjustability though)
•4 fonts for monogramming + ability to easily add my own
•Ability to adjust font size, width, etc
•Good Stitch Save for replacing broken thread, etc
•Combinable designs
•Inexpensive feet easily found online
•Large stitch width (5-7mm)
•NON auto presser foot (or at least optional manual control)
•USB connection
•Touch Screen
•Reliable Quality

WANT:
•LARGE hoop/embroidery option (like Designer Majestic hoop) + Multi hoop for ongoing border designs
•1 degree design adjustment
•Ability to use off brand hoops
•Auto jump stitch trim
•Ability to color sort (avoiding constant thread color change)
•Good brand software (until I decide if I want to purchase Embrilliance)
•Design Memory
•Fast speed
•Onboard guides/help
•Free software updates
•Auto tension sensor based on fabric thickness/stitch selected

Any other Need/Want recommendations I should consider?
