My husband turned 40 today, and he loves the artistry in old Ouija boards. (he's a designer/creative, and it fits his aesthetic). I made this cake to celebrate him.   Grin



It's a yellow cake with chocolate icing baked in a 9x13 pan, but the board and planchette are made of sugar cookie dough. I used a woodgraining tool to spread brown icing on it for a subtle wood look (I just watched YouTube videos for how to use one) and then printed out pictures of Ouija boards to make sure my royal icing was true to type fonts for all the words/pictures. After they dried, I put them on the cookie with a dab of frosting. The planchette is elevated on tiny cookie feet. Here are some progress pics.
