So many craftsters have sent me scraps of amazing fabric over the years. some specially for this quilt - Must mention CraftyLittleMonkey who heard I was making this and reached out to me - Thank you!. Making this for my granddaughter was a labor of love in many ways. Not sure it counts as a true ticker tape quilt because some of the fabric pieces are pretty big. my apologies to the quilt description police if they are watching and I am mistaken. All the pieces are zig-zag stitched down, binding is plain old store bought binding, stitched by hand because hand stitching is what I enjoy.

I took the 2 pictures below after 9 months of use and several washings, so it is getting a little worn looking, but generally holding up pretty well.

How the back looks:

and a close up of the front - longjohns drying on the line - love that fabric.

I love this idea! I have a bunch of random cool things that I've cut out of fabrics and T-shirts over the years, but they're all random sizes. This style of quilt could definitely be a solution in the future. You did a lovely job, and I am sure it is very loved!

You cannot give me too much work; to accumulate work has almost become a passion with me: my study is so full of it now, that there is hardly an inch of room for any more. I shall have to throw out a wing soon. (J.K.Jerome)

The longjohns are fantastic! Loving the whole thing, beautiful quilt for a beautiful kid. And I think I received some of that sweet Care Bear fabric in the lower left corner from you, years ago.

Oh, that long-john fabric. I love that stuff!

So much of those scraps came to me from people here, that is one fine community quilt you've made there. I love every bit of it.

This is so neat!  I don't have any young kids (7 and up now)...but I might still stalk Goodwill for fun fabrics for future friend's babies!  These would make adorable baby quilts and one of a kind gifts!

When I actually sat down to do this, I found I had enough fabric scraps for a half dozen quilts, I have all the bits carefully saved hoping someone around me will have another baby!
