Ooops, I totally thought I had posted recently, but I guess I didnt...

Zoey got to hang out for a bit at the Honolulu airport, haha!

We were there at night, so its hard to see much, but we have some cultural gardens right in the middle of the airport.

After the Art Conference, my friend and I took SusieQ to the Columbus Museum of Art where we saw a cool display of yarn work. LBABB sends me a lot of funny yarn work, so I will let her wonder what all we saw and save it (except this sneak peek) for the scrapbook.

Oh wow, I'm pretty sure Tampa International Airport doesn't have a cultural garden! Grin

Iki has had a quiet week. I had a bunch of medical things including an unplanned root canal on Friday so we haven't had time to do anything fun this week.

We've been enjoying our first cold front here in Florida. It went from 85F (29C) to 60F (15C) so it's been a nice change. We turned on our "fireplace" (really just one of those fake, fancy electric ones you can hang on a wall) so Iki was enjoying the ambiance and warmth.

The weather was absolutely perfect yesterday. 72F (22C), cool, low humidity, light breeze, blue skies, and sunny. So I took a mental health afternoon and hit the local conservation park nearby and showed Iki some of natural Florida.

This is part of the estuary at the edges of Tampa Bay. They rent canoes and have launches so you can also paddle the waterways of the park in addition to the walking/hiking paths.

Some of the natural underbrush and pinewood flats common to the area.

They have a boardwalk over the marshes edges so you can walk through the mangroves.

We wound up walking the Otter Trail. It was 1.7 miles.

We even encountered an armadillo rooting around and eating dinner!  Grin

The end of the trail took us across some salt marshes.

And by this point, the sun was getting low, so it was time to head home. But what a nice afternoon we had!

I had mentioned a few weeks back that I had had an interesting experience during a holiday craft fair and that I would post the photos I had about it.  I didn't do it then, but here I am now.

Here's the back story:  DH and I had went to a craft fair that was in a public library.  It was very enjoyable in that it wasn't like the usual craft fairs around here where it's really just a mix of commercially made stuff and handmade.  All the items in this particular craft fair were handmade, and done well.  Sooooooo..

Hubby and I stop by a lady who is selling tote bags.  The sign on her booth says that all the bags are made with recycled materials and I always like to support that.  She had a bag made out of a pair of jeans and I love those kind of bags b/c the denim, to me, is like a blank canvas-there to be decorated.  So I bought it ($25!!!!!  IMHO, worth much more than that.):

(Funny aside...the lady and I were standing there talking about the bag and she showed me how she kept the pocket there, but for "obvious" reasons, she sewed up the zipper.  I didn't say anything, but I'm thinking why not leave it alone and turn it into a pocket?  It took me till yesterday to figure out why.  I'll see if you guys can figure out why.  Wink Grin)

Next to the bags, she had the decorative covers that go over rectangle shaped tissue boxes that look like mini couches.  On one of the couches she had this sitting there:

I giggled and told her that I liked the _______ ________!  (I'm going the leave this here for you guys to figure out too, except that the answer is right below.  Grin)  I thought it was the funniest thing, so inventive!  And adorable!

So she gave him to me!

Ok, by now, I'm all smiles and giggles (It doesn't take much...  Roll Eyes) and looking at all the other things to see.  On one table there is a bunch of these in a bowl:

The lady said they were from her daughter's baby shower and were used to cover the tops of the wine bottles there.  She had extras so she was selling them at the craft fair.

Of course I thought it was a hat at first and I purchased it for Mr. Sparkles!  It even has a string attached to keep it on his head!  Won't he look cute in it?Huh!!!!!

Hope this made you giggle as much as it made me!  Grin
