It's alive!!!

This giant crazy octopus stuffy/pillow I made for one of the kids has been loved half to death. The other day I noticed sweater guts on the floor and went to examine, sure enough part of the body was worn right through!

It was stuffed with all these chopped up pieces of trim. I really do not want that all over the place, it's fluffy and dusty and sticks to everything. Amazing monster stuffing but a house wrecker.

That thing was so beloved, not to mention an awful lot of time and energy to create. Plus the whole point was to divert landfill so we didn't want to throw it all in the trash. It was really trashed though, big unmendable holes. I cut out a circle around one eye, the back with the zipper, and half of the tentacles. What a pain to sew, I ended up doing it by hand with dental floss so it won't get pulled apart by my rough little kid.

Transformed into this very strange, face-hugger sort of cushion.

How would you like a hug from that thing? Ha ha!

Yeeeeees! It's coming to get you! For a hug... Wink Good way to recycle and keep loving an already recycled project. Looks like he'd now make a comfy kid floor cushion now, as well.  Cheesy

Thanks all Smiley. We got the lad a new bean bag chair to replace the giant octopus but he was still just crushed to lose it, I had to at least try to remake. He wanted all the tentacles saved which was, ugh, such a pain. I'm glad I took the time though, it's just too freaky ridiculous looking, we all had a good laugh when it was done Cheesy.

I like Kit-Kat, unless I'm with 4 or more people.
