I'm getting a head start on my handmade xmas gifts and have been assembling the materials for this project for a couple of months. Yeah, I'm that person. This is for my MIL who is a Cowboys fan through and through. To better see the papers, here are the unlit photos. The papers are from scrapbook.com which seemed to have had a deal with the NFL to use their copyrighted logos, etc. for all the teams. I'm glad I did my searching & buying a few months ago, because they're clearing out that whole line now. Not that I wouldn't have liked to have gotten the discount, but it was more important to just get them!

The files for this are from svgcuts' Game Day Marquee Kit which also includes files and directions for basketball, baseball, volleyball, and soccer (the other football). Here the lit up pic in full size, because it's just so dang cool that it lights up!

And some details...

I used my Sizzix Big Shot to texture the paper panels on the football and some tan stamp ink to add some detail to the white parts it is not blurry in real life, Ahem.

The battery pack pocket just happened to cut where the pattern matched up almost perfectly so I had to document it with a pic! Then I added a little embellishment because it was just so spot on.

The pattern did not call for any embellishments, but I wanted to add this sentiment from the paper pack and had picked up some football chipboard stickers at a yard sale earlier this summer with my MIL in mind. They're both backed with the same navy paper from the main body of the marquee and attached with double-sided foam adhesive "dots."

I don't know from sportsball, but if social media has taught me anything it's that the Dallas Cowboys are a little embarrassing, but to use a phrase my MIL uses for all kinds of things, "OH WELL!"

Oh, man! The details! I'm impressed with your use of texture on the football, and how cool is it that the little box lined up so perfectly! And, since the Cowboys seem to be having a pretty good season so far, your MIL should be extra happy!
