New apron from Old materials

Recently I had visits from my DD's, one of their BFFs wanted an apron... seeing all the zero waste and home goods I crafted for both girls, she wanted one for herself.

It was a proud moment, teaching DD#1 how to sew, then seeing and hearing her teach her BFF... in nursing we say "see one, do one, teach one"... so between her and I we picked out fabrics from my overflowing stash... We used one of my aprons she picked as a pattern and I showed her how to pin it and cut it, the roller rink is fussy cut from the same fabric I made my DD#1 aprons out of and the pink and yellow are both pockets.



All of my fabric, 90% is all thrifted and hoarded, including bias tapes and any tools and such, thread, used sewing machine even haha.  However the pink in this apron was from new fabrics bought long ago for my daughters, a WIP that never began progress! haha, its a shame I have so many ideas and not enough action... The floral is from a huge vintage sheet...



Makes me want to make more... aprons galore...

Looks fab! Old sheets are such a great source of fabric. I've made a few aprons with different patterns on either side. Reversible is fun, bit more durable and absorbent too. For the messy chef, haha .

CLM I agree, I felt it to be a bit thin, any future ones I will try dbl up on layers
