Having lost my life's work and all my tools and materials in that fire, I've been slowly trying to arrange a space for myself and purchase necessary tools and materials. I won't ever be able to replace what was lost, but moving forward is necessary.

Currently I'm honing wet felting skills. I had only done a little wet felting in relationship to classes I created for CAE. I'm doing more wet felting now for the sake of permanence of the pieces I make. Mostly I have been working on brooches. Their size being relatively small allows me to experiment and refine techniques more easily than with larger projects.

Here are some of my brooch experiments:

I love how some of the circular ones feel familiar (some look like a fruit) but yet so unique too!

I love the organic structure... I have never tried needle felting but it is on my list of things to do!

Thanks!

I'm setting up my studio in what was the dining room. It doesn't have the privacy of my previous studio and I have to remind myself that the cats will get into everything given even the slightest chance, but it will work.

Here's another brooch. Because this photo was done from overhead, you can't see that the middle white section is really like a shallow bowl.

I recently bought a light box for photographing my pieces, but haven't used it yet. Soon!

Those are absolutely amazing. The fine stitching details and beads are perfect additions to the felting. So beautiful and organic!

Those are absolutely beautiful! I've never tried wet felting, but the results are very nifty. I love the organic, unique, and varying designs you've created. Also, the flounder made me giggle. Grin
