Made for TAOJ in the recent stitched mandala swap. Her colour request of red, white and blue ended up looking sort of nautical to me, fitting since she lives by the ocean.


It started off sooo ugly, cross stitch is not my thing  Tongue


But I really like how it turned out!


Really enjoyable stitching.


I liked how the design started to evolve on it's own after a while.


Some rows really benefited from being double stitched, the thicker lines just looked more determined somehow.

You achieved such a lovely effect using just a few basic colours...and those little beads are the perfect touch!

Lovely! I think it really works having two shades of blue in the design.

FOUR shades of blue! I chose close but different enough to add interest. I hope so anyhow.
