I am just throwing this out there for discussion. I donít have any idea what the final swap would look like, but I am thinking a long swap time with multiple exchanges. Anyone have any ideas? Or maybe just people interested in being pen pals?  Doesnít have to be swapping of crafts, just notes or letters or small things?

You had me at "pen pal".  Smiley  Depending on the time commitment (crafted item swap(s) vs. letters, etc.), I could absolutely be up for this.

I just closed the ATC Address Book swap an am planning another round in November-ish. I could add a "looking for penpal" option to the questionnaire. It wouldn't be a requirement of the swap but people could start penpalling as a result?

Otherwise a penpal swap could work as long as you send crafty items each time. Maybe the first letter is sent with stationary, the second with stickers, the third with a crafted small based on what you learn from the letters? Almost like a mini-mini-mini-make-a-friend swap?

Yeah. All of those are good ideas. I'm going to take a look for the old Penpal swap to see what they did and maybe do some research to see what else is out there.

Original Penpal Swap

Round 2

Round 3

Round 4

I'll do some research on the way home for other things like this.

Pen Pal Pinterest Board

I did a pretty extensive search of Pinterest/Google to find images and ideas for a potential swap.

After looking at the original Pen Pal swap I have to say that it wasn't quite what I was envisioning. My idea is that, over the course of about three months, two people exchange letters and a small. Minimum of one letter/craft a month. Each month could be themed (stickers, patch, cards, stationery, etc). The three smalls would make up the three points of the original swap, but relieve the pressure I think. Three letters would give the partners enough time to really start to get to  know each other.

If this doesn't pan out, I may just start sending things to my old swap partners.  Grin
